The Eagles hosted Carlsbad on Tuesday March 20th on the Upper Field. SFC's defense held the Lancers scoreless for the first 10 minutes of the game and were able to do this even though they were down a player on defense due to a penalty. Carlsbad was eventually able to score and they scored 2 goals within 2 minutes of each other. Freshman Mayah Dumas cut the lead to 1 with 14:00 left in the first half. Sophomore Emery Leggett tied the game up a minute later. With 6:27 left in the first half Senior Alyssa Freter scored to put the Eagles up 3-2. Senior Sarah Teruya scored with 5:49 left before Dumas added 2 goals to put SFC up 6-2 at half. Teruya stared of the second half with a goal in the first minute. Carlsbad finally answered with 2 goals and inched closer to tying the game but they were still down 7-4. The Lancers scored their final goal to get them to 5 on the today. The Eagles were able to tack on 3 more before the buzzer went off. 2 goals by Emery Leggett and 1 goal by Senior Gracie Shafqat rounded out the second half for the Eagles and brought the final score to 10-5. Freshman Goalie Alyssa Pederson had 5 saves. Mayah Dumas finished with 3 Goals and 1 Assist, Emery Legget finished with 3 Goals while Sarah Teruya added 2 and Gracie Shafqat added 1.
